Having not done a full 24 hour event together, Rachel and I had decided that a full day on our feet and with no-one else for company would be a great test, so we had enterred the National Rogaine Champs in Taupo to crown a 5 week stretch of weekends away from home.

Due partially to petrol hitting 2 dollars a litre, we arranged a bit of car pooling and work flying to get us to Taupo seperately, and met up at our evening's accommodation in a house full of participants in both the championship 24 hour, and the accompanying 12 hour events.

A pretty poor night's sleep ended fairly early as the house became a bustling hive of activity with 3 teams preparing for the day ahead of us.
